Does the mobile app work offline?

Yes. IronSight's mobile app is fully offline-capable. Changes made while offline are cached on the device, and when a connection is regained the data will automatically sync.

And if you're a service provider, you can add your clients platform, self-serve. There's no pressure for them to join, as you can still complete jobs for them through IronSight without their direct participation.

Do I need to buy hardware?

No. IronSight's mobile app is available on the app stores and works on the mobile devices you already own. IronSight's web app works best on modern browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
